New development of 9 contemporary dwellings for Shared Ownership and Market Rent with associated parking and landscaping.
The scheme is on a brownfield site created by the demolition of 27 underutilized garages in a single block and will provide seven number, three-bedroom, 5-person three storey terrace houses each with two garage spaces on plot and two number, two-bedroom, 4-person three storey terrace houses with two garage spaces on plot.
The site is located in a suburban area of Maidstone between Shepway and Parkwood on Sutton Road and as such, it is a highly sustainable location. A regular bus service runs along Sutton Road connecting Maidstone. Maidstone is the County Town of Kent and offers a comprehensive range of shopping and social activities. There are numerous primary and secondary schools and a full range of public services including health care in the area.
To promote sustainable transport, each new dwelling has secure cycle storage, either within the garage. Refuse space has been provided to comply with Maidstone Borough Council’s recycling strategy within the garage for recycling and garden for landfill waste. Sustainable methods and materials shall be used in construction giving the new buildings a small carbon footprint and reduced energy requirements.
