Commencing in June 2016, BBS Construction are undertaking this design and build project, constructing a new teaching block, comprising 6 classrooms, to enable the school to increase capacity from 1 form to 2 form year groups.
BBS have already undertaken a considerable amount of works, including refurbishment and alterations to existing buildings, along with replacement and enlargement of the main car park and access, which was undertaken during the school holidays.
The project is valued at approximately £2.25million, and is due to complete in May 2017.
Scaffolding has now been removed from the outside of the building, and the internal partitioning is being installed. Decoration of classrooms and breakout areas will follow shortly, in anticipation of a handover by the end of May.
Commencing works on site in July 2016, BBS are undertaking the construction of a new science block and 6th Form Centre at Walthamstow Hall School in Sevenoaks, Kent.
With completion due in Summer 2017, and at a value of almost £4million, the project comprises a reinforced concrete basement and frame, with steel frame structure, rain screen cladding and roofing systems.
The new building, attached to the existing science block, will house a new 6th form centre, including study areas and break out space in the lower ground floor area, as well as new science laboratories and preparation areas, a computer room/study area, and technologies classroom spaces on the ground and upper floors.
As can be seen from the photograph, the concrete base structure is complete, and cladding works have begun, with the steel frame section due to be in place within the next few weeks.
